Dear Miss Know It All,
I have been going to the same school all my life and have had the same friends since kindergarten, so I have never really had to try and make new friends.
However, next year I am starting a new school that has a lot of people. I want to figure out how to make new friends in a completely new and different setting.
Sincerely,
The Friendship Seeker

Dear Friendship Seeker,
Making friends is hard, especially as we grow older, but some of the best advice I can give you is to put yourself out there! I know it is really scary to talk to people you don’t know, but it’ll pay off in the long run. Sit with a group of your peers at lunch, join an extracurricular, exchange social medias etc. Try your best to get to know people in your new school even if you don’t end up being friends with every person. Knowing people’s names, grade, and interest will make the transition smoother. And don’t be afraid to make friends outside of school. Go to places like the mall and library or join after-school activities like a sports team!
