MISS KNOW IT ALL: ASPIRING SOCIAL BUTTERFLY

MISS KNOW IT ALL. To: Miss Know It All From: Aspiring Social Butterfly Dear Miss Know It All, How do I be more talkative? When I was younger, I was so outgoing and could talk for hours, but now I am very shy. It's awkward when I can't carry a conversation for more than 4 sentences. Please help me! From, Aspiring Social Butterfly To: Aspiring Social Butterfly From: Miss Know It All Dear Aspiring Social Butterfly, Don't be too hard on yourself about being shy, it's natural and happens to many people . It would surprise you with how many peoples are nervous about making friends or speaking to others. The only way you'll get better at something is to practice! Here are three tips that'll help you feel confident and ready to take on the world: One - The mirror is your best friend Stand in front of a mirror, and practice speaking! It doesn’t matter the topic, you just need to get comfortable speaking out loud. This might feel silly, but it’s a great way for you to used to talking and seeing what you look like while engaging in a conversation. Two - Know your stuff One of my biggest tips for you is to be knowledgeable about the things you’re discussing. Pick three topics you’re interested in and research them. Take your time to learn some interesting facts that can be shared with others and spark up some fun convos! Three - Join activities Afterschool activities are a great way to make friends and get comfortable talking with others! Joining a club will connect you with people who are interested in the same things as you, which is a great way to make some new friends.
